Game Development

I wrote and designed this game 100% in Apple's Swift programming language as a personal challenge, as it was a language I did not learn in class. I am a fan of games where the goal is to earn as much money as possible, and in this game, you must do exactly that. Set in a cyberpunk future, you must travel to different cities, selling different substances and medicines made illegal in the dystopian future. Random encounters may work against you as you travel from city to city. Each city will have different items to sell and buy with varying prices, so you must calculate this with the risk of moving between cities each turn until the amount of days you have in the game is up, which is when the game will end, should you have not met sooner ends, giving you your high score.

You will run a game rental store in an undisclosed location. Upon opening the store, customers will start to file in and look around for  something to play. You must manage the lines in order not to lose sales from customers who would rather not wait forever while also ensuring the store is stocked and talking with other customers. Slowly, each customer that comes in reveals something about the overall story going on by sharing bits of their personal lives with you. The mystery unravels as you try to maximize profits, collect more games, and pay bills to keep the lights on and upgrade the store. Once a night, if the conditions were met in the day, the final customer will trigger a special event, taking you to a special level you must complete in order to gain access to the next special customer but also a larger reveal in the story.
Using movements, camera angles and a final look reminiscent of the PSX era in gaming for added nostalgia and challenge in creating a stylized look and feel.
